Andrew Thompson

As a 17 year old, Andrew began working for the Hindmarsh Adelaide Building Society (which, over the years, morphed into the Adelaide Bank). During his 15 years in the banking system, Andrew was involved in just about every aspect of lending imaginable.

“During my last four years at the Adelaide Bank, I was responsible for managing our broking channel. I got to know all the brokers in SA very well. Steve Marshall was one of them. I really admired what Steve was doing with The Loan Arranger – he represented his clients extremely well, with professionalism and sincerity. It was something I could see myself doing, and the idea of being my own boss really appealed.”

Andrew made the move to The Loan Arranger in 2004. He had an intimate knowledge of the banking system and soon began to build his own portfolio of clients.

“It was such a refreshing change – my focus was no longer on products and quotas, but actually helping people find the best way forward. I really enjoy interacting with my clients, getting to know them and understanding what their future goals are.”

Andrew is now based in the Adelaide Hills, where he lives with his family. He enjoys the freedom of being a broker, and is able mix a ‘hills lifestyle’ into his busy work schedule.

“I coach my son’s junior footy team, go mountain biking and play the odd round of golf. It’s great that I have the opportunity to do these things, because it makes me a better broker.”
